This year, why not create the perfect warm and inviting atmosphere by decorating your home with these four tips to create the perfect cosy space?
1. A smattering of Autumn Colours
Picking out the right colours and tones is one of the easiest ways to inject a burst of Autumn vibes, especially if you keep a consistent theme of accent colours throughout. It is amazing the impact layering cushions can have on a room, especially when thinking about those seasonal accent colours to really bring out your dominant colour. It isn’t however all about the colours, we find that mixing the textures of your cushions and throws, such as knitted and faux fur cushions, can create depth and provide sensory variation.
Adding a throw or two around the house is not only practical for the cold autumn nights, but can also create a sense of luxury. Try throwing them over the arm of your sofa, the end of your bed, or even the back of a dining chair to create an effortless look. Whether it’s a chunky knit throw or a soft fleece blanket, make sure they’re readily available for those chilly autumn evenings when all you want to do is snuggle up and watch a film, read a good book or have a brew.
3) Hang an Autumn Wreath on the Door
Don’t be forgetting about the outside of your home too, it deserves some love now as much as it does throughout the Christmas season! We LOVE a seasonal wreath, at pretty much any time of the year, but especially in the autumn. The possibilities and themes are endless, from faux autumn leaves, berries and dried flowers to mini pumpkins or even halloween themed wreaths. It is time to get yourself down to the shop to stick you nose in hundreds of candles until you find one that doesn’t make you pull a face! Our favourite scented candles for autumn are fragrances like apple cinnamon, pumpkin spice, or warm vanilla. Place them strategically around your home – on coffee tables, shelves, or in the bathroom – and light them in the evening to fill your space with the scents of autumn. Not only will they set the mood, but they’ll also add a warm, flickering glow that’s perfect for those crisp fall nights.
